Friday 23 ~ Monday 26 April 2010 — If you weren't there - you missed a fabulous time, as Hills & Paul, Angie and Gary put together a fun-filled weekend's entertainment at The Riviera Hotel, Alum Chine, Bournemouth! On Friday night we celebrated St George's Day and on Saturday night we were superbly entertained by the excellent Paul Bailey. Saturday night's theme was "I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Into Bournemouth" and we had some fantastic costumes, which are best described by the photo's below. Sunday evening saw live music from not only David Worrall, but also Paul (officially 'Toes' but for the weekend, a.k.a. 'Ringo, John, & Robin Gibb!) who dusted off his microphone after a number of years away from the stage. Father & son teamed up live for only the second time ever to sing "Ain't That A Kick In The Head". Hillary (officially 'Hills', a.k.a. 'Norma Desmond (Sunset Boulevard)) was screen-testing for an Oscar all weekend! Beginners, Improvers and Intermediates were catered for with separate morning and afternoon workshops on both Saturday and Sunday. The sun shone; the staff at the Hotel looked after us regally and the whole weekend was an absolute ball! We're already planning to go back to Bournemouth for the weekend commencing Friday 6 May next year and will be announcing details shortly. Paul broke his camera on Friday night; so thanks to everyone else who provided photo's - the pick of which (all expandable) are below. We're still expecting some more... |
