GT. YARMOUTH LINEDANCE WEEKEND WITH SUNSHINE & STARS
This was our third Line Dance Weekend with Sunshine & Stars in Great Yarmouth and the number
of Hills 'n' Toes participants just keeps growing! Last November, we took just 16; this time we had
about 50.
Following the successful format of the last weekend back in March, Friday night kicked off with the
'Hills & Legs  Golden Oldies' show. This was an opportunity to re-visit some of those dances that
may have slipped from our memories (or that we might have missed first time round).
There were two workshops on Saturday - one in the morning with Sylvie 'Miss' World from Silver Boots
and one in the afternoon with Hills. Saturday night was party time and the requests carried us through
to the early hours of Sunday morning. A few hours' sleep led us to Sunday morning's workshop, hosted by Rowena.
A raffle over the course of the weekend raised almost £300 for the Ellie May Trust.
As many people throughout the country are aware, Ellie May from Romford contracted meningitis when she was about 18 months old and
although she won the battle for her life, her arms below the elbow and her legs above the knee had to be amputated in September 2005.
The Trust was established to help finance the many prosthetic limbs she will need in the years ahead. Ellie May's aunt,
Jacqueline Pease is a regular at Hills 'n' Toes and it was a pleasure that Ellie May
and her family spent some time with us this weekend at Gt. Yarmouth.
As ever, the staff at the New Beach Hotel made us very welcome. A big 'thank you' must go to
Sunshine & Stars' very own Mike Powell, who made it all possible. We do it all again at the end
of March next year - details to be found on the 'Events' page.
Here's the photo's. Anyone from Hills 'n' Toes who was there but not captured by Paul - our apologies:
