Following the success of our holiday in Madeira last December, an enlarged group of 30 of us from Hills 'n' Toes again had a superb week in the sunshine. As we did last year, we stayed at the wonderful 4-star Hotel Monumental Lido in Funchal.

Entertainment and choreography was provided by Johnnie 'the Legs' Sutton, Sylvie 'Miss' World and the inimitable Hills 'Bunny' Kurt. Billy Curtis was again scheduled to join us - but mysteriously did not make it. Fortunately, the splendid David Worrall was able to step in at the last moment and flew out to provide live line dance-friendly cabaret.

Those who joined us on this and/or the previous holiday to Madeira will vouch that there is plenty of time away from line dancing to go and do whatever takes their fancy. I know we said it last year, but "you haven't lived until you've seen the Christmas lights in Madeira".
